its establishment in 1949, the Kenai Community Library has
been central to the community as a resource for information,
knowledge, creative expression and pleasure.The Library makes
available a collection of over 70,000 books, periodicals,
electronic databases and audio visual materials to 12,000
registered users and numerous out-of-state visitors. The Library
staff is always willing to assist patrons on site and to answer
reference or bibliographical questions by telephone and e-mail.
Interlibrary loan services obtain materials not available
in the Library or within the Central Kenai Peninsula area.
The Library also has a wide variety of programs to promote
the love of books and reading for children and their families.
located in Kenai, the Library grounds are accented by native
plants and shrubs. The magazine reading area with its large
picture windows offers an opportunity to catch up on national
and local news or to enjoy a quiet moment. A temporary Library
card is available to visitors and summer residents. Free
Internet access gives patrons and visitors the opportunity
to find information, to research myriad topics and stay
connected with friends and family.
Kenai Community Library is prepared for and looking forward
