crime stoppersThe mission of Crime Stoppers is to develop an effective crime solving organization throughout the Kenai Peninsula utilizing the Community, Media, and Law Enforcement in "Working Together to Solve Crime"


The local program, which started in 1983, is a community-based organization which offers cash rewards for information that leads to the arrest of felony suspects. Calls to Crime Stoppers at 283-TIPSare taken 24 hours per day, 7 days per week on a dedicated non recorded line which does not use Caller ID. Once a tip is received, it is forwarded to the appropriate law enforcement agency.


Completely anonymous tips can also be submitted online at The site is updated regularly with unsolved crimes and statistical information. Since its inception, the local program has assisted in 270 arrests for 265 solved crimes. Anonymous Crime Stoppers tips have resulted in the recovery of $330,780.00 in stolen property, and the seizure of $1,669,720.00 in illegal narcotics. The local program has paid over $18,825.00 in rewards since its inception.
